ABOUT THE LADIES AUXILIARY

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Worcester Volunteer Fire Department was founded on May 11, 1960 at Fairview Assembly Hall. The purpose of the organization was to assist and support the Department, the firefighters and our community.  

In the early days, the members of the Ladies Auxiliary had a "Phone Squad" to call the firefighters when there was a fire call (before there were pagers). In the event of a barn, house or field fire the Ladies Auxiliary was tasked with bringing coffee, water and in some cases, even sandwiches to the scene to support our Firefighters.  

 

The Ladies Auxiliary has hosted many fundraising events over the past 25 years ranging from Penny Auctions, Flower Sales, Roast Beef Dinners, Flea Markets, Hoagie Sales and Craft Fairs! These successful fundraisers have allowed the Ladies Auxiliary to assist the Department with equipment purchases. This allows our responders to focus their time on emergency response rather then fundraising!

 

The Ladies Auxiliary meets the first Monday of every month at 7:30PM in the meeting room at the firehouse. New members welcome! 

 

To become a member of Ladies Auxiliary, you must be at least 16 years of age and of good moral character. Members do not need to be affiliated with a Fire Department Member. Our members consist of women in the community.

 

Membership Dues: $5.00.
