What do you like most about being a member of Station 83?
I like being part of a vibrant organization that includes members both young and old, from different backgrounds, with varied career paths, that have come together for the common good of the community. And then there is the rush that one gets when the alarm sounds.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining?
Joining the department will give a person immediate access to new friends of all ages, a knowledge of township history, and a sense of satisfaction that comes with helping others. There are many jobs to do and we provide safe and thorough training before asking you to take on any responsibility.
What is something you like doing outside of the firehouse?
I’m retired now so exercise, bocce, dancing, golf, and filling in my calendar.
Being retired, Paul is one of our most active members. He is always eager to mentor younger members and spend time training new drivers. When the whistle blows, Paul can typically be found in the driver seat of his favorite apparatus, Ladder 83.
